Addis Ababa – The President of Israel, Isaac Herzog, has arrived in Addis Ababa for an official visit aimed at strengthening bilateral relations between Israel and Ethiopia.

President Herzog was received upon arrival at Bole International Airport by Ethiopia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Gideon Timothewos (PhD), and State Minister Ambassador Berhanu Tsegaye. The welcoming ceremony underscored the importance both nations attach to their longstanding diplomatic ties.

According to information obtained from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ethiopia, President Herzog’s visit will include high-level discussions with senior Ethiopian government officials. The talks are expected to focus on reinforcing cooperation in key areas of mutual interest, including diplomacy, trade and investment, agricultural development, technology transfer, and innovation.

The visit is also anticipated to further consolidate the historic relationship between the two countries, which spans decades of diplomatic engagement and people-to-people connections. Both Ethiopia and Israel have maintained cooperation in various sectors, and the current visit is seen as an opportunity to elevate partnerships to a new level.

Officials indicated that the outcomes of the discussions could pave the way for expanded collaboration frameworks and enhanced strategic engagement between the two nations.
