Addis Ababa — Several political organizations operating in the Tigray region have issued a joint statement addressing the current political situation in the region and the country at large.
In their statement, the groups described the political and social conditions as challenging, noting that the population is facing significant hardships. They emphasized the need to uphold justice, peace, and democratic rights as essential pillars for stability.
The organizations underscored that unity and cooperation among political actors are critical to resolving the ongoing challenges. They called for continued political engagement through peaceful and democratic means.
The statement also urged all stakeholders to engage in dialogue and work toward sustainable solutions, while stressing the importance of strengthening institutions and ensuring accountability.
Furthermore, the groups called on the public to remain united and actively participate in efforts aimed at addressing the region’s challenges and promoting stability.
The joint statement was signed by the Asimba Democratic Party, the Tigray People’s Liberation Front (TPLF), the Aksumite Congress, and other affiliated organizations.
