KEYIR NEWS — The House of People’s Representatives is set to convene tomorrow, 18 October 2018, for its second regular session of the fifth parliamentary year, during which it is expected to approve the motion of support after hearing the government’s position presented by Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed (Dr.).
The sitting will commence at 2:30 a.m., with His Excellency Dr. Abiy Ahmed, Prime Minister of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, attending in person. During the session, the Prime Minister will address and clarify questions raised by members of the House concerning the opening speech delivered by H.E. Ambassador Taye Atske Selassie, President of the Federal Republic, at the joint session of the House of People’s Representatives and the House of Federation held on 26 September 2018.
Subsequent to the Prime Minister’s presentation, the House is expected to deliberate on and endorse the motion of support reflecting the government’s official stance.
The session will be attended by ambassadors, representatives of international organisations, religious leaders, community elders, political party delegates, and other invited dignitaries. The proceedings will be broadcast live nationwide from the House’s main chamber in Addis Ababa.
