Addis Ababa - Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed (PhD) said Ethiopia is prepared to deepen cooperation with international and regional partners as the country hosts a high-level summit in the capital.

“As we host this summit in Addis Ababa, we reaffirm our readiness to work with Italy, with our African brothers and sisters, and with all partners committed to turning strategic dialogue into development outcomes that improve lives,” Dr. Abiy wrote on his official Facebook page.

The remarks signal Ethiopia’s intent to strengthen diplomatic and economic engagement with Italy, African nations and other international stakeholders, at a time when governments across the continent are seeking greater investment and coordinated approaches to development challenges.

Addis Ababa, which hosts the headquarters of the African Union, frequently serves as a venue for regional and international summits focused on economic integration, infrastructure, climate resilience and peacebuilding.

Dr. Abiy’s statement emphasized translating “strategic dialogue” into tangible development gains, a phrase that reflects broader efforts by African governments to move beyond diplomatic pledges toward measurable economic outcomes, including job creation, infrastructure expansion and improved public services.

Further details about the summit’s agenda and participating leaders were not immediately available.
