ADDIS ABABA — Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed has called for deeper continental solidarity and accelerated institutional reform during his address to the 39th Ordinary Session of the Assembly of Heads of State and Government of the African Union.

In his remarks, the Prime Minister underscored the importance of collective action in addressing Africa’s pressing challenges, including peace and security, economic resilience, climate change, and youth unemployment. He stressed that the continent’s long-term prosperity depends on strengthened regional integration, enhanced intra-African trade, and more responsive continental institutions.

Abiy also reaffirmed Ethiopia’s commitment to multilateral cooperation and the shared vision of an integrated, peaceful, and prosperous Africa driven by its own citizens and representing a dynamic force in the global arena.

The summit brought together African leaders to deliberate on strategic priorities and chart a coordinated path forward for the continent.
