Addis Ababa - Recep Tayyip Erdoğan is set to travel to Ethiopia and the United Arab Emirates next week, according to official announcements from Ankara.
The visit to Ethiopia comes amid growing political and economic engagement between Addis Ababa and Türkiye, with both countries expanding cooperation in trade, investment, infrastructure development, and security affairs. Ethiopia has emerged as a strategic partner for Türkiye in the Horn of Africa, a region of increasing geopolitical and commercial importance.
Diplomatic sources indicate that discussions in Addis Ababa are expected to focus on strengthening bilateral ties, reviewing ongoing investment projects, and exploring new areas of collaboration, particularly in manufacturing, construction, and defense-related industries. Türkiye has, in recent years, become one of the prominent non-African investors in Ethiopia.
Following his Ethiopia visit, President Erdoğan will travel to the United Arab Emirates, reflecting Ankara’s broader effort to consolidate relations with key partners in the Middle East and Africa as part of its recalibrated foreign policy.
The visit underscores Ethiopia’s continued role as a major diplomatic hub in Africa and highlights its strategic relevance in Türkiye’s engagement with the continent.
